This one hour course is designed for art school students and college graduates to teach them relevant 3D and VFX skills and workflows that I learned that got me hired and how to tailor your portfolio and resume to have a better chance at getting hired in the industry.

Intro

The VFX/3D industry in 2025 is brutally tough to get into, and as students graduate every year from art school, some either can’t find opportunities, get rejected, or just can’t get their foot in the door. They paid for school, were taught some skills, but maybe not the skills that studios are hiring for, nor the advice that prepares them for the industry.

My Experience

I went to art school from 2019-2022 and didn’t learn those relevant industry skills. I instead learned the relevant skills from tutorials and courses outside of school, which allowed me to create industry level work and get hired. I made this course to teach artists and art school students the skills I learned that got me hired and tailor your portfolio to have a better chance at getting hired in the industry.

About the Course

This course attempts to fill in those gaps and help train, encourage, and prepare you for the VFX and 3D industry. It covers skills I wasn’t taught in school, but instead learned from online tutorials and courses outside of school that got me hired in the industry.

It's a fast-paced one hour course that goes over numerous important aspects of portfolios and resumes, as well as job searching, interview, and salary advice that art schools may not teach you.

This isn't a masterclass going super in-depth into particular VFX roles, but a course that identifies common issues and shows solutions to VFX workflows in an efficient way, as well as giving advice to increase your chances at getting hired in the industry.

This course is not necessarily one to follow along to, but to sit back, relax, learn and enjoy.

Also, as AI advances in the 3D industry, studios still need original human work with the right skills and expertise to create incredible work.
